if i were a droplet,
a droplet of rain,
i'd slide by your window pane
and stare at your eyes dreaming.
if i were a soil,
a piece of that you walked on,
i'd stick myself in the soles of your shoes
and be just where you're heading to.
if i were a page,
a page of calendar on your desk,
i'd own one saturday
and mark it with our date.
if only i could be right next to you..
just so i hope these lines would do.
bakit subjunctive mood?

ReplyDeletepart yan ng grammar di ba? kapag subjunctive mood, yun yung special case na ginagamitan ng "i were" imbes na "i was". ginagamit kapag may gusto kang gawin na hindi posible at the moment. or hindi posible during this lifetime at all. sa panaginip. pwede pa.

ReplyDeletehands down riz, hands down. i didn't know you write poetry.. (alam ko nga ba? hm.) astig, it has a cooling effect. di ko alam kung dahil nagstart sha sa image ng water (droplet), pero it's.. swabe. siguro din, while it's sweet, it's not icky sweet. 'stig riz. and i like the idea of the subjunctive mood, using the technical with "artistic." i tried this once. gusto ko yun idea ng indefinites, only to find out that i'd been using demonstratives. ha-ha. malabo no, explain ko nalang neck time.
